Strong compostion in this with the spears. I really like how you left the mass of the body almost as a cut out design, it has a neat effect.

Thanks. It's really influenced by Harry Clarke, more of an Arts and Crafts movement figure, but I think they were influenced my ukiyo-e prints, so it's in there.

I love the colors and how sharply the moths/death contrast to the rich red of the background. It reminds me of nang yai shadow puppetry<3

JESUS CHRIST WUT
You put all of us to shame. ;n;
I mean seriously, this is brilliant. It's probably my favorite in your entire gallery. Just the attention to detail is amazing.

Two questions, if you care to answer?
- What kind of paint did you use?
- How big is this?

It's 18x18, and watercolor with technical pen on Rives BFK. I was really into Harry Clarke and Nick Blinko at the time, so I was worked hard on the small details.

Watercolor?! Good lord, if I could do that with watercolor, I'd... well, I don't know... feel extremely accomplished? And I can see the Harry Clarke reference, now that you've mentioned it! You certainly did a great job with those small details.

Thanks! I bet you could do this, really I just used watercolor because it's good for small details, and you can use it over your pen work.

interesting.. the pinned moths and pinned death...
Moths are often symbols for death - clever, even if it wasn't intended.

I love the Klimpt- like details on death, and his hand my be my favorite part of the whole thing.
