You know how if someone is missing for 7 days you can legally declare them dead? I believe that if you don't hear from the client for a month, you can declare the project dead. This was supposed to be a record cover. I was timid about working for a band again, as I have had lots of bad experiences with them in the past. I took a chance and accepted a cover job for a small band, and a small fee. Behold! I did the work, didn't get paid, and the band is nowhere to be found. ::Sigh:: I will never do that again.
This is mixed media. It's a charcoal, pencil, and white gouache drawing, colored digitally. I think it's a great way to work. It has the speed and flexibility of digital, with the texture and "artist's hand" that makes traditional so nice.
I WANT THIS ON MY WALL!!! What kinda band was it? Were they by any chance named "Ph'nglui Nglw'nafh Cthulhu R'yleh Wgah'nagl Fhtagn" ? or maybe those last five ummm, words?
It seems all Indy projects seem skittish in commitment. I'm sure you have had all the high fives from artists you care to have but you do have a cool image.
Hello Jeremy, My Name Is Jordan, I'm The Lead Singer Of The band You Are Talking About, First Off I Would Like To Formally Apologize For Leave You Hinging Like I Did. I'll Have You Know My Band Was Having Issues With Recording And Finding A Permanent Guitarist. We Had And Still Have A lot Going On And Just Now Are Settling Down And Getting Ready To Record. Cthulhu Regrets Losing Contact With Such A Creative And Original Artist Such As Yourself Jeremy. I Would Like To Talk To You In A More Private Manor To See If There Is Any Way We Could Work This Out. We Would Hate To Be Yet Another Band That Screw You Over, That Was Never Our Intention. Thanks.
BANDS... Don't get me started about working with bands! They always try to pay you minimal amounts for maximum effort, it's ridiculous. You'd think that them also being in a creative field would help them appreciate how hard it is and actually pay you properly! ANYWAY... At least you got a stunning piece out of it. Really, really stunning. You really captured that slimy octopus texture here perfectly, love love love it.
